Welcome! I’m MF (Marie-France), a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with a background in education and extensive experience working with youth and students, including those pursuing post-secondary education. 

I began my career as an international teacher and quickly realized I felt most passionate about my students’ mental health and well-being. Recognizing a great need for more access to mental health counselling and resources for youth, I decided to pursue this passion and returned to Canada to earn my Masters degree in counselling psychology from the University of Ottawa.

Having worked in both community settings and schools since my arrival to Yellowknife in 2020, I am well-versed in the unique contexts and challenges faced by youth and families in our community. I conduct my work through an attachment lens and provide trauma-informed, client-centered psychotherapy. 

Beyond my work with children and youth, I have  experience working as a provider for employee assistance programs and enjoy working with individuals coming from all walks of life using a solution-focused approach. Whether you need a single, brief therapy session to make a plan and get connected to resources, or a few sessions to explore an issue with a bit more depth, I am happy to work with you to support you in making life changes that align with your goals and values.
